For this project, I designed and developed the website for the Spring 2026 A+GD Portfolio Show, an annual showcase celebrating graduating graphic design students and their work. The goal of the site was to function as both a promotional platform for the event and a digital extension of the show’s identity. It needed to provide clear information for attendees while also highlighting the creativity and professionalism of the graduating class. Because the website would likely be the first point of contact for visitors, I wanted the experience to feel polished, engaging, and reflective of the talent being presented.

The design direction focused on creating a clean and immersive experience that supported the event branding while remaining easy to navigate. I used strong typography, spacious layouts, and dynamic imagery to create a sense of momentum and anticipation. The visual system was designed to feel elevated and contemporary, allowing student work and event details to remain the primary focus. Careful attention was given to hierarchy so users could quickly access important information such as the date, venue, RSVP links, and designer portfolios.

From a UX perspective, the site was structured to guide visitors naturally through the experience. Sections were organized to introduce the event, explain the concept, showcase participating designers, and encourage attendance. Clear calls-to-action were placed throughout the site to increase RSVP engagement and make navigation intuitive across desktop and mobile devices. Since many visitors would likely access the site through social media or email links, responsiveness and fast accessibility were important priorities throughout development.

Beyond functionality, this project gave me the opportunity to work on a live event-based design system with real users and real outcomes. Designing for an audience that included peers, faculty, industry professionals, and guests required balancing creativity with clarity. It challenged me to think strategically about branding, user flow, and audience communication while maintaining a strong visual identity. Overall, this project was a valuable experience in combining web design, event promotion, and user-centered thinking into one cohesive final product.
