For this project, I developed a full brand identity for Ballistic Bronc Bar, a concept inspired by rodeo culture and the lively atmosphere of a classic Southern bar. The goal was to create a bold, character-driven identity that felt energetic, memorable, and full of personality. I wanted the branding to capture the rugged confidence of the Western lifestyle while still feeling playful and approachable for a modern audience. To build the concept, I looked at vintage bar signage, rodeo posters, Western typography, and classic mascot-style branding to understand how those visual elements could be reimagined into something fresh and contemporary.
The final concept centers around an illustrated bronco head paired with strong, dynamic typography to create a sense of movement and attitude. The bronco’s expressive pose and sharp angles help communicate action and excitement, reinforcing the “ballistic” personality of the brand. I chose bold, curved lettering to complement the illustration and create a unified logo system that feels loud, confident, and easy to recognize. Together, the mascot and typography give the brand a strong presence that can stand out in a crowded hospitality environment.
Color played an important role in shaping the identity. I used a warm, earthy palette featuring reds, creams, browns, and tan tones to reflect the Western setting while keeping the overall look polished and versatile. The red adds energy and impact, while the neutral tones help ground the design and create a more authentic, rustic feel. This palette also translates well across physical applications such as merchandise, coasters, menus, signage, apparel, and drinkware.
Beyond the logo itself, I explored how the identity could extend across branded materials such as T-shirts, pint glasses, stickers, and promotional graphics. The bold illustration style and recognizable mascot make the brand highly adaptable while maintaining consistency across multiple touchpoints. This project gave me the opportunity to combine expressive illustration with strategic branding, resulting in a concept that feels cohesive, memorable, and full of storytelling potential.
